Well-attended Public Law Outline Pilot seminar on 1st July

01 JULY 2013

More than sixty delegates from twenty-five firms of solicitors, as well as a number of local authority lawyers, attended the Park Plaza Hotel on the evening of the 1st July for a seminar on the revised Public Law Outline (PLO) Pilot, which will bring about fundamental change to the way in which the courts deal with care cases.

The speakers were Head of Chambers and family Silk Paul Hopkins QC, Head of the Family Team, Owen Thomas and experienced care practitioner Sian Parry, who all took delegates through the changes to the procedures and court documents as well as updating the audience on the latest soundings on implementation from the judiciary and the over-arching theory behind the Pilot.

In the past two weeks additional training sessions have also been delivered to local authorities including Bridgend, Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan, whilst a very successful multi-authority event was undertaken at Newport City Council, involving delegates from Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire and Rhondda Cynon Taff amongst others.
