Leah Pollard is an accomplished and persuasive criminal advocate with a busy Crown Court practice. She is regularly instructed by both the Prosecution and Defence in a wide range of matters, including appearing in complex multi-handed cases, bringing in-depth legal knowledge and the exercise of sound and reasoned judgement.
Her trial experience extends to: serious violence, complex fraud, drugs supply and serious sexual offences. Leah also has experience of dealing with cases involving conspiracy, bribery and misfeasance in a public office. She is well versed in proceeds of crime legislation and handles cases involving substantive offences of money laundering, as well as confiscation proceedings in the Crown Court.
Due to her meticulous attention to detail she is frequently instructed as a led junior for both the Prosecution and Defence. Previously, Leah also practiced in a wide range of civil and immigration matters. This allows her to draw on this wealth of knowledge and experience to assist her in all areas of her criminal practice.
Leah has lectured on the Bar Training Course (BTC) at Cardiff University. As part of this role, she taught civil litigation, together professional legal practice skills across a range of disciplines including submission and trial advocacy, conferencing, opinion writing and drafting.

Following completion of the Bar Vocational Course, Leah was awarded a Churchill Scholarship from Grays Inn to complete an internship program with the Independent Jamaican Council for Human Rights, in Kingston, Jamaica. As part of this program she was required to liaise with Director of Public Prosecutions, the Attorney General, Commissioner of Corrections and the Administrator General’s Office. She visited prisons weekly to speak with inmates concerning human rights abuses and to work on appeals to the Privy Council on behalf of death row inmates.
