Phillip regularly handles employment matters for both claimants and respondents in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal.  He has acted for a wide range of clients including local authorities, companies and individuals and adopts a thorough and direct approach to his caseload, dealing with issues including redundancy, unfair and constructive dismissals, discrimination, unpaid wages and TUPE.  He accepts instructions under the Bar Council’s Public Access Scheme.

His recent employment work includes acting for a former Financial Controller in the context of a constructive dismissal claim; representing an employer who dismissed an employee for exposing himself in the workplace; and appearing for two claimants in the Employment Appeal Tribunal on the issue of whether an intention to set up a business in competition with their employer constituted a breach of the implied term of trust and confidence between employer and employee.
