William’s core practice area is family law but he does accept instructions in civil and crime where he acts for both the defence and the prosecution. In civil cases he undertakes conditional fee arrangements.
William’s family law work includes all aspects of public and private children matters, financial remedies and co-habitation disputes under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996. His experience also includes cases involving child abduction and wrongful retention of children.
With a real passion for family law, William is both approachable and hard-working. He is a member of the Family Law Bar Association.
William was educated at Whitchurch High School, Cardiff, before going on to study law at the University of Wales, Swansea , where he obtained a first class degree. It was here that he was awarded the Sir Samuel Evans Prize (University of Wales 2005) along with best final year law student award (University of Wales, Swansea 2005). William then attended Cardiff Law School where he achieved a grade of “outstanding” on the Bar Vocational Course and was awarded the Lord Williams of Mostyn Achievement Award for the Outstanding Student in Advocacy Witness Handling and the Angel Chambers Prize for the Best Performance in Criminal Practice.
William’s pupil supervisors were Owen Thomas (family), Owen Prys Lewis (civil) and Matthew Roberts (crime).
