Justin practices in civil, employment, crime and family law areas.
Justin’s civil practice includes chancery, commercial, administrative and a broad range of common law work. He advises, drafts pleadings and represents parties in proceedings relating to personal injury, disputes concerning rights and interests in and over land, all manner of disputes in contract and tort, personal and corporate insolvency, Companies Act and partnership issues and landlord and tenant disputes.
In respect of subrogated claims by insurers, Justin is experienced in advising and acting in claims involving vehicle hire and repairs. Justin will accept instructions subject to a conditional fee agreement on a case-by-case basis, which will be offered on PIBA or ChBA standard terms.
Justin is also regularly instructed to represent both claimants and respondents in the employment tribunal. Justin's employment practice is evenly split between claimant and respondent work. In employment tribunal proceedings, he has experience of a broad range of work including actions for unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, redundancy, wages claims, whistle blowing, discrimination and TUPE.
A member of our family team, Justin accepts instructions in public and private children matters, injunctive relief and co-habitation disputes under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.
Justin is also a member of our criminal team. Justin is experienced in prosecution and defence work in the magistrates’ courts and the Crown Court. He is regularly instructed in relation to a wide range of regulatory and enforcement proceedings in magistrates’ courts and the Crown Court.
Justin studied at the University of Oxford (BA Hons.), the College of Law (dip. law) and Cardiff Law School (Bar Vocational Course). Before joining Chambers, Justin worked for the National Assembly for Wales, where he advised Assembly Members and their support staff on a wide range of issues including town and country planning, rights of way, public health and environmental law and he maintains these interests in his practice.
