Ieuan Morris

Ieuan Morris

Year of call: 1979
Clerk: Nigel East

As a member of the Criminal Bar Association, Ieuan is a highly respected Barrister who specialises in serious and organised crime.

Prior to joining 9 Park Place Chambers, Ieuan was a full-time lecturer-in-law at the University of London and a tutor in criminal law at the University of Wales. He now has a special interest in sexual and child abuse, complex fraud, drug abuse, violence and murder. Ieuan is a Grade 4 CPS prosecutor and is on the panel of approved advocates for prosecuting rape cases.

With proven experience of quickly analysing difficult issues, some of Ieuan’s recent notable cases include conspiracy to supply class ‘A’ controlled drugs and the successful conviction of a paedophile for the sexual and physical abuse of a two year-old child. The case depended entirely on medical evidence as there was no complainant. In Baby S a mother was convicted on similar evidence.

Ieuan also appeared for the prosecution in the cases of Operation Panama Canal, Dawson (trafficking in drugs), and Operation Firkin, Gilleeney (cocaine gang), which both featured in the national media and Archbold Criminal Law, resulting in substantial sentences for those convicted.
