9 Park Place again recognised as a "Top Tier Set" by the Legal 500

07 JANUARY 2018

9 Park Place Chambers is delighted to announce that it has once again been recommended as a 'top tier' set by the Legal 500 with more total recommendations (33) than any other set in Wales. Added to a record 28 individual recommendations and featuring recommendations across multiple practice areas for David Elias Q.C., Emyr Jones, Richard Kember and Phillip Morris, the 2018 edition also recommends Owen Williams, Cerys Walters and Cadi Dewi for the first time.

The Guide reports that we enjoy “a strong reputation across criminal, family and civil law. Expertise in the latter area includes commercial and Chancery matters, employment, personal injury and public law. In the criminal space, the set was strengthened at senior level when David Elias QC was appointed silk in 2017. The ‘excellent’ clerking team is ‘very flexible and solution-driven – nothing is too much trouble’. In particular, senior clerk Michael Lieberman is ‘superb’.”

Head of Chambers Paul Hopkins Q.C. said, “we are delighted to report that a record twenty-eight of our members are recommended across the Legal 500 practice areas, again illustrating the breadth of quality available at 9 Park Place.  We are also thrilled to see that the dedication and hard work of our clerking team has been recognised and we would like to take this opportunity of publicly thanking all those who contributed to the research programme.”
