Regulatory, Sports & Professional Discipline Team host Rugby Disciplinary Seminar

9 Park Place Chambers was delighted to host a recent seminar on Rugby Disciplinary Procedures. The speakers included Jon Davis, Disciplinary Officer for the Six Nations tournament and Rabo Direct, who detailed the administration of discipline and implementation of sanctions for foul play at all levels of the game. Additionally, Robert Williams, Simon Thomas and Roger Morris, partners in the firm Hutchinson Thomas, Neath, all of whom sit as Judicial Officers, gave a concise and valuable insight into the disciplinary process followed for red card or citing offences, from the procedural steps before plea, through to the hearing, issuing of the judgment and onto any appeal.

Chambers welcomed delegates from across the rugby spectrum including Richard Holland, CEO of Cardiff Blues and members of his coaching staff, members of the Ospreys coaching staff and former Wales internationals and British and Irish Lions, Gerald Davies and Brynmor Williams.
