Established criminal tenants join 9 Park Place Chambers

Roger Griffiths, Leighton Hughes and Hashim Salmman have all joined 9 Park Place from Temple Chambers, Cardiff to complement our expanding Criminal Team.

Roger was called in 1983 and is a CPS Grade 4 prosecutor whose practice now covers matters of the utmost seriousness or sensitivity including murder and other offences of serious violence, drug conspiracies, fraud and serious sexual offences. He specialises in covert surveillance cases involving the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 and is a legal advisor to police disciplinary panels.

Leighton was called in 1989 and is also a Grade 4 prosecutor who is regularly instructed in cases of utmost severity, including murder, rape, manslaughter and complex frauds. He is experienced in representing sensitive cases and is frequently first choice when defending and prosecuting legal professionals, police officers and doctors.

Hashim was called to the Bar in 2005 and brings his busy Crown Court defence practice to 9 Park Place Chambers.  He has broad experience in Crown Court trials, appeals, committals for sentence, proceeds of crime applications and multi-handed cases and is a popular choice for many solicitors in these areas.

The new members join the 30 strong Criminal Law team at 9 Park Place Chambers, which is led by David Elias.
