Family Barristers join 9 Park Place Chambers

Six high profile barristers have joined 9 Park Place Chambers.

9 Park Place BarristersKay Waldron, Richard Miller, Christina Thomas, Andrew Barcello, Eifion Williams and Marianne Bennett have all joined the family law team at 9 Park Place Chambers. Ms Waldron has a distinguished career conducting child protection work within local authorities and joins direct from the legal department at Swansea Borough Council. The other five new members have all joined from Temple Chambers in Cardiff. Mr Miller, who was formerly head of the family team at Temple Chambers, is a specialist family practitioner and handles Children Act and public law child cases. Ms Thomas focusses exclusively on children’s cases and Mr Barcello has a thriving family law practice. Mr Williams deals with both public and private law cases while Ms Bennett handles family, crime and public law cases.

The six new members join the 15 strong family law team at 9 Park Place Chambers which is led by Paul Hopkins Q.C.

Mr Hopkins Q.C says: “Our family team includes members with extensive experience in all areas of matrimonial, cohabitee and civil partnership disputes, including forensic examination of family and related business interests in ancillary relief matters, in which we are regularly instructed in high-value cases. We also handle every aspect of public law children work representing parents, local authorities and guardians, as well as dealing with all private law children disputes. Members of the team accept instructions direct from lay clients in suitable cases under the Bar Council's Public Access Scheme.”
