Cadi Dewi instructed in fitness-to-practice tribunal hearing conducted in Welsh

28 JANUARY 2016

Cadi Dewi today successfully concluded the fitness-to-practise hearing of the head teacher of a Pembrokeshire school who was found to have altered the national test results and teaching level assessments of pupils over a 2 year period in order to meet the targets of the Schools inspector, Estyn.

During the three day hearing in Cardiff, which was conducted in Welsh Cadi, who represented the Education Workforce Council instructed by Kingsley Napley, successfully argued that the head teacher of Eglwyswrw Primary School in Pembrokeshire, who was sacked by the school in the aftermath of the incident, had shown herself to be dishonest by initially denying she had instructed a colleague to make the changes. A prohibition order was imposed preventing the registrant from teaching for a minimum of 2 years.
