Chambers again listed as Band 1 set in Chambers UK Guide

31 OCTOBER 2014

A record number of 9 Park Place's members have been named in the most recent release of Chambers UK Guide as notable practitioners on the Wales and Chester circuit, with Richard Kember and William Seagrim having been added to the cohort already listed as leaders in their field.  In addition, 9 Park Place Chambers is once again listed as a Band 1 set in the 2015 edition of the guide, and is described as "one of the strongest criminal sets on the Wales and Chester Circuit" where "the [criminal] clerks, led by Nigel East, are excellent, on top of what's going on, and reasonable on fees."

Of this year's new entries, Richard Kember is noted for his chancery practice which includes land and wills, trusts and probate disputes. Chambers UK 2015 records: "He has a very effective style in that he's not bombastic, but is calm and measured.  That's what makes him appeal to judges.  He's sensible and he's not hot-headed."

William Seagrim records his first appearance in the UK Guide within family work, recommended for his varied client base, including adult and child perpetrators, victims and local authorities.  He is noted as being "deserving of wide recognition" as an "up-and-coming junior who is very confident and very able."

Also listed in Chambers UK 2015 from 9 Park Place are: Gwydion Hughes and Emyr Jones (both in Chancery and Dispute Resolution); Robert Vernon (Employment); Peter Brooks (Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence); Paul Hopkins Q.C., Owen Thomas,  Christopher Felstead, and Matthew Barry (Family) and David Elias, Roger Griffiths, Heath Edwards and Elizabeth Pearson (Crime).

The news has been welcomed by Head of Chambers, Paul Hopkins Q.C., who said: "This is fantastic news for 9 Park Place Chambers, and for the individual members who have been listed in the guide, all of whom fully deserve the recognition of being included in such a prestigious publication.  It is a reflection of the quality of representation we continue to provide at 9 Park Place."
