Heath Edwards represents clients in all aspects of criminal work. He specialises in defending and prosecuting white-collar crime, fraud, money laundering and drugs cases. Through such work he has developed a particular knowledge of the law regarding the restraint and confiscation of the proceeds of crime.

In recent years Heath has prosecuted for the Organised Crime Division, in association with the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), and the Special Casework Unit of the CPS. He has also worked with and against the Confiscation Unit (CPS) and the Regional Assets Recovery Team (RART) concerning cases of drug-trafficking, money laundering and fraud.

His defence work includes representing defendants in a complex hire-purchase fraud (R v Nikolai & Others) and an NHS Trust fraud (R –v- Murray & Others).

Heath is a category 4 graded CPS Advocate.

Notable Cases :

R v Whelan & Others (1999) (fraud by managers of a limited company)

R v Martin Evans (2003-06) (drug trafficking and fraud leading to £33 million confiscation proceedings and the re-patriation of criminal proceeds from various jurisdictions across Europe and the US).

R v Nikolai & Another (2005) (hire purchase finance fraud)

R v Murray & Others (2007) (NHS fraud)

Operation Manat I (2008): (drug trafficking and money laundering).

Operation Michigan (2009) (drug trafficking prosecution and associated confiscation proceedings involving 31 defendants).

Operation Manat II (2009): (mortgage fraud).

Operation Versailles (2009-10): (drug trafficking prosecution and associated confiscation proceedings involving over 40 defendants).
