Matthew Roberts is a highly experienced barrister who has prosecuted and defended a wide range of cases. Although not limited to these areas he specialises in serious sexual offence cases, frequently involving difficult third party disclosure issues and expert evidence, particularly in relation to DNA profiling. Mr Roberts also has particular expertise in computer and internet-related crime, with the specialised technical knowledge needed to tackle such cases.

R v Erickson (2007) instructed as a led junior for the prosecution in a murder case involving 5 forensic experts

R v Gifford (2007) instructed as sole defence junior in a case of attempted murder

R v R (2007) defended a case involving an allegation of rape of a 7 year-old by a 12 year-old defendant

R v Saffi Khan (2006) defending in a multi-handed trademark and counterfeit clothing case

R v Harris (2005) defending in Operation Reptile a large VHCC case

R v Wallbank (2005) defending a case of murder involving expert psychiatric evidence
