David Elias practises in all aspects of criminal law including cases of serious sexual abuse, drug trafficking, violence and dishonesty.

Licensing:

David undertakes all aspects of licensing work.

David has experience in prosecutions by:

• The Environment Agency
• The Health & Safety Executive
• The Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (now called The Department for Business Innovation and Skills)
• County Councils for breach of planning and building regulations

1.  Appeared in R v Moreton & Others (Bristol Crown Court) David represented one of the defendants in a 13-month trial concerning allegations of Legal Aid fraud by a solicitors’ firm. (Part of R v Timothy Robinson & Others)

2. In R v Copthorne Hotel (Cardiff) Limited & Others (Cardiff Crown Court) he appeared for one of the defendants in a corporate manslaughter/health and safety prosecution involving the deaths of five members of the public from Legionnaire’s Disease.

3. In R v Stephen Farrell & Others (Northampton Crown Court) he represented one of the defendants charged in relation to the fraudulent evasion and subsequent money laundering of in excess of £26 million of VAT.
