Crime:

Gareth has a particular interest in criminal law.  He regularly appears in the Magistrates’ and Youth Courts of South Wales, both prosecuting and defending.  He has undertaken a variety of instructions in the Crown Court, representing the Crown and defendants in appeals from the Magistrates’ Court and sentencing hearings. 
During his time in the British Army Gareth represented soldiers in a series of disciplinary proceedings and is interested in expanding his practice to include all aspects of military law and courts-martial.

Common Law:

Gareth appears in the county court in a range of litigation matters including personal injury, housing and insolvency.

Family Law:

Gareth has experience of county court family cases including private injunctions and contact proceedings.

Regulatory:

Gareth is available to handle all types of regulatory work

Previous Career :

Before commencing practice at the Bar, Gareth served a short service commission in the British Army (Royal Welsh).  He saw service all over the world including two operational tours of Iraq.  During his time in the Army Gareth represented soldiers in numerous military and civil disciplinary procedures.  After leaving the Army and completing the Bar Vocational Course, Gareth worked as a county court advocate in the courts of South Wales conducting contested hearings before District Judges.  Gareth gained valuable experience of housing matters, including possession hearings and charging orders, small claims, bankruptcy and infant settlements.
