| Area of Practice : | Crime: Nuhu Gobir practises in all aspects of criminal work. He was junior prosecuting counsel in the trial of a conspiracy to defraud the BP/Safeway Partnership of £1.5million. He was recently junior prosecuting counsel in Operation Pegasus - a prosecution VHCC involving 4 Libyans in a conspiracy to defraud Next Plc, banks and other financial institutions. He is a CPS Grade 3 prosecutor. His criminal defence practice encompasses a wide range of areas. Recent cases include a case involving the managing of brothels in Cardiff and Swindon, with Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings for over £5million and a case in which he was a led junior in the defence of a Detective Constable for alleged police misconduct. Nuhu regularly prosecutes on behalf of local authorities and government departments and is on the Attorney-General’s Unified List of Prosecuting Advocates. Administrative: Nuhu’s practice covers all areas of immigration law, particularly asylum appeals and entry clearance cases. He worked for 2 years for the human rights organisation, “Liberty”. |
